Merijn Pol

I am Merijn Pol, I am 15 years old and I live in The Netherlands. I usually ride at spots like: Strand Horst, Workum, Mirns and Wijk aan Zee but I actually drive with my dad through the whole country to where ever the wind takes us.

I had my first kitesurf lessons from my dad when I was 11 years old, my dad taught me all of it. But I got really hooked into this sport when I did my first jump like 2,5 years ago. From that moment I started to make more progress and kited more and more until this day!

What I enjoy most about kiting is the jumping and the progression I make. I always say: ‘nothing beats the feeling of a good loop!’ what I also like about Kitesurfing is that when you get to a spot you always come across other people you know and ride with them, there is always a good vibe at the beach!

My dream session would be a sunset session in Cape Town, With my dad and with a few kitebuds of me! The perfect conditions would be steady 30 knots with good kickers. I would land tricks like kiteloop late backroll, and the boogieloop!

Supermodel HTF of course! my favorite size is a 7 meter, in steady 30 knots! and I use a KevPro 133. And of course the Dreamstick X!

Other sports I like are snowboarding, skateboarding and wavesurfing. And I like to hang out with friends! And of course, when there is no wind I check the forecast every minute in the hope that there will be wind soon ;)

People can expect from me that I will grow my social media’s and that I am going to make even better content and land tricks that are more extreme, and I hope to compete in some competitions one day!
