Please introduce yourself a little for those who don’t know you
Hi my name is Max. I’m a 17-year-old kitesurfer from the Netherlands. I live in Lelystad, and Hoekipadijk is my homespot.
Why, and at what age did you get into kiting?
I started kiting because of my dad; he took me with him on his board, and from that moment, I fell in love. Since the age of 10, I started kiting myself, and in the last 2 to 3 years, I started focusing on getting better.
What about kiting do you enjoy most?
The things about kiting I enjoy the most are the freedom, the adrenaline and the feeling it gives you.
Describe the absolute perfect dream session to us.
My dream session would be with the whole Reedin crew at Tarifa or Cape Town, 40 knots, big waves, and just having a lot of fun together.
What gear are you riding and what’s your favorite size?
I ride a Kevpro 133×40, a Dreamstick X with 22m lines, a 10m, and an 8m Supermodel HTF, but the 8m is for sure my favorite size.
What do you do on a day without wind?
On a day without wind, I like to work out, watch kite videos, and look at how other people do tricks.
What can people expect to see from you in the future?
People can expect more videos on my Instagram. They can see me progress and maybe compete in the near future.
