Please introduce yourself a little for those who don’t know you (who are you, where are you from, where do you usually ride)
Hi, I’m Ingmar, a 15-year-old kitesurfer, totally hooked on kiting! I usually ride at spots like Workum, Mirns, or Lauwersoog. I’ve been kiting with Reedin gear for 2 months now. I love catching waves, so my favorite spot is definitely Ameland on the North Sea.
Why, and at what age did you get into kiting?
I started kiting when I was 11, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I got into kiting because I used to watch my uncle kite and he would jump super high. At that moment I thought, I want to do this too! He taught me how, and a few months later, I had my own 5m kite to shred with!
What about kiting do you enjoy most?
What I enjoy most about kiting is flying really high. The vibes at the spot are always super relaxed. Kiteloops are also absolutely thrilling! The freedom kiting gives me and the way it clears the mind is unbeatable.
Describe the absolute perfect dream session to us. (where? when? with who? conditions? what tricks would you land?)
My absolute dream session would be in Cape Town, South Africa at Misty Cliffs. I’d be kiting with a few kite buddies, enjoying the perfect conditions with 35 knots of wind, and some huge waves. In this dream session, I would land a double-loop board-off.
What gear are you riding and what’s your favorite size?
I ride with my KevPro 133 board and a Hypermodel, my favourite size is the 9m Hypermodel, which is truly out of this world!
What do you do on a day without wind?
On windless days, I like spending time with my friends or family. I stay active with activities like fishing, wakeboarding, or playing football. I’m also checking the wind 24/7, hoping for good wind.
What can people expect to see from you in the future?
In the future, you can expect me to chase my dream of becoming a professional kiter. I’ll work hard to make it happen, competing in big events and aiming to reach the top level. I’ll also focus on making better content for social media.
