My name is Eszter Nagy, I’m 25 years old. I am coming from Hungary, from a smaller
town, Mór.
When and how did you get into kiteboarding? What do you like about it the most?
I think all of us in these sports, as kids, were longing to be at the ocean and do water sports. As Hungary is pretty limited for that, I did all kinds of sports and started wakeboarding, skating as “close” things to surfing. Then I first discovered kiteboarding by seeing some guys on our lake kiting 5 years ago. Then I just wanted to do it. I had 2 more years in university but after I got a contact for a kite school in Sicily. I went to work for them and learned kiting next to it. I love that it feels like combining more sports together. Complex and also a mental game, training.
Describe your absolute perfect dream session to us.
Kiting with friends who love riding as much as I do, in strong wind with some nice waves, and probably in sunset time.
What are your short and long-term goals in kiting?
Kite as much as I can, and to always go for one more difficult trick then before. I want to try competing in big competitions as well.
What are you looking forward to the most this year?
I am planning to go to Brazil, I heard so much good from kiting there. So it is definitely one I am looking forward to. Kiting and training there.
What’s your favorite spot to ride and why?
So far it is Blouberg with those nice kickers. You can go big there for sure. But I didn’t kite on so many of the best spots so I can tell more probably after this year.
What do you do on windless days?
I love to hang out with my friends. Go for pump tracks, bit of surfing, hiking whatever we can do. And some work.
What made you want to join the Reedin team?
First my brother tried the kite 2 years ago and said it is amazing, then not so long after I bought my first Reedin kite. The team seemed nice and passionate so it looked like a good match.
How has the gear been so far?
I enjoy it a lot, I can develop easier. I think it is developing fast every year. Damien listens to the ideas and to the riders feelings with the gear even in small things. Then he focused on inventing it all in the next collection.
What can we expect to see from you in the future?
Hopefully crazier tricks and more kiting trips
