Please introduce yourself a little for those who don’t know you
I’m David, a 16-year-old Big Air Rider from Israel. I’m what you call an adrenaline junkie. I do it all – Snowboarding, Surfing, Rock climbing, Carver skating, Wakeboarding, and really anything that gives me the rush. But despite all these, whenever the wind starts blowing, you will always see me at the west coast of Israel pumping a kite.
Why, and at what age did you get into kiting?
I’m the youngest son to a familly of highly addicted kite surfers so it was a choice between learning how to kite or finding myself a new family. now, 2 years after my brothers taught me how to go upwind, I’m teaching them the new tricks.
What about kiting do you enjoy most?
For me, it’s all about the YANK. That feeling when the kite levels with me and I’m feeling that crazy amount of power throughout my bones. That moment when I have no clue if it’s gonna be a smooth landing or a crazy crash is something no other extreme sport can provide.
Describe the absolute perfect dream session to us.
Flat water, 30 knots of stable wind. Just me and my two brothers in the water, sending together big kiteloops in all of its variations.
What gear are you riding and what’s your favorite size?
I ride a KevPro 133×40 and the supermodel in all sizes, but there is no size that can loop quickly yet stay stable in the air like the 8m.
What do you do on a day without wind?
On a day without wind, I try to keep in shape training and get my daily adrenaline shot somewhere else.
What can people expect to see from you in the future?
Competing in as many competitions as possible and pushing the limits of Big Air Kite Surfing from session to session.
