Hi, I’m Antonia Spittel, I’m 15 years old and I’m from NRW in Germany. Whenever the opportunity arises, I spend time on the water. Either at my home spot “Dornumersiel” on the North Sea, but also in other countries.
Why, and at what age did you get into kiting?
We have always been very often in our holiday home on the North Sea. Since my father is a kitesurfer, I really wanted to learn this. He taught me at the age of 11. Since then, I love being on the water and having the kite above me.
What about kiting do you enjoy most?
I like to be on the water. Having the wind in the kite and feeling weightless. Learning new tricks and have fun. It’s great to be out and about with friends and motivate each other.
Describe the absolute perfect dream session to us.
My dream session would be with friends in Brazil at about 25 kts and flat water. In addition, a beautiful sunset and wonderfully warm water. While I land new tricks such as a boogie loop.
What gear are you riding and what’s your favorite size?
I have the supermodel HTF 2 in 6m, 8m, 10m, 12m and I ride the 133 KevPro. My favorite kite size is 8m for practicing loops and I love my 12m most for freestyle.
What do you do on a day without wind?
I love hanging out with my friends or go jogging, cycling or jumping on the trampoline. In winter I love to ski or snowboard.
What can people expect to see from you in the future?
I would like to learn many new tricks and successfully participate in further competitions. I also want to explore many new kite spots around the world. In the future, it would be a dream to be a participant in the GKA.
