High performance shredability
Drawing inspiration from the success of the mid aspect ratio Flight Attendant wings, the ElCapitano wings integrate some of its most impactful design elements into a higher aspect ratio lineup. Crafted for both intermediate and advanced riders, the ElCapitano series embodies high performance and shredability.
Exceptional lift-drag ratio
The outline shape and wing twist maximize lift in the center of the wing, gaining efficiency from its tapered lift distribution. This delivers an exceptional lift-to-drag ratio each wing size. These key features, coupled with the new section profile, also allow the wings to operate at a wide range of speeds and maintain a low stalling speed. Giving these higher aspect wings the best speed and glide for the surface area.
No ventilation
Reduced wingtip loading allows the wingtips to cut through the water surface without ventilating the rest of the wing. As aggressive wing-out turns are an exhilarating part of any foiler’s progression and predictability in these critical turns is paramount, we focused strongly on key design features to ensure the best and smoothest wing-out turns. Many of these elements have been inspired by the Flight Attendant’s success and optimized into a higher aspect ratio design:
Curved up wingtips
When a wingtip encounters the water surface, the angle at which they meet is critical to the likelihood/severity of ventilation. Curved up wingtips facilitate a steeper wing-surface angle upon contact with the water, significantly reducing the risk of ventilation – whether you’re pushing the limits or inadvertently breaching a wingtip.
Smooth & predictable
Each characteristic has been carefully harmonized to create a high-performance wing that thrives on pushing boundaries while maintaining a smooth, predictable feel.

The bread and butter size of ElCapitano! The 995 is the first wing we started to fantasize when we discussed the 9.5 AR line. It epitomizes the lineup’s excellent glide and all around performance, with effortless pumping, snappy turns, and smooth wing tip breaching. An excellent choice for any discipline, including prone, kite, winging, and wake foiling.

This wing a perfect big brother to the 995, working extremely well in all conditions, with just slightly more lift but very fast for its size. Great for the smaller wave days or heavier rider. It stays true to one of the main standout points of all Reedin wings, with a low takeoff speed and stall resistance. This makes it extremely easy to get on foil and accelerate quickly.

A pump and glide machine! Ideal for downwinding and flat water/tiny wave foiling. Makes you feel like you can float on the smallest of waves or wakes. The ventilation resistance tips and section are especially useful on the larger span wings for the accidental wingtip breach or for knifing the wing out on aggressive turns.

What was the goal when designing ELCAPITANO?
ElCapitano was designed with a focus on speed, glide, and predictability, with a bonus of easy breaching of the wingtip in those tight turns. We’ve taken a lot of shape aspects that make our FlightAttendant series so good and adapted those to the higher aspect series. So you get a huge speed range, predictability, stability and wingtip breachability, in a high performance package.
What are the advantages of a high aspect foil?
The advantage is that because they have less drag, you’ll glide much further and longer. Also because the chord is much shorter, it is way easier and more efficient in pumping.
Who are these foils for?
There’s a size for really every foiling discipline. Although they’re high-performance foils, they are not hard to ride, I would say anyone that’s past the beginner stage and is comfortable in the basic manoeuvres will benefit hugely and can take their foiling to the next level.
Our recessed 4-screw connection is extremely stiff with absolutely no play. The superior rigidity results in very direct control from your feet to the foil.
The new mast features a redesigned thickness taper that maximizes rigidity while keeping the mast as thin as possible where it’s needed. We also re-engineered the materials and tested many different layups to hone in on the highest performing structure. The result is a super direct feel, with no lost motion between your feet and the foil.
The fuselage uses a conical box-style connection. This means that the tension from the screws when you tighten them is now transferred to the four sides of the box to deliver absolute mast/fuselage rigidity.
Our wings are designed in order that they will perfectly work right out the box. For the more advanced riders we have added the option of trimming the stabilizer by + / - .5degrees by simply moving the wing slightly forward or back thanks to the oval holes.
No shims necessary!
An added EVA baseplate prevents any scratches on the board when sand or dirt gets between the plate and board when rigging up.
