Brainchild is a new production facility in the heart of Europe. Founded by veteran kite designer Ralf Grösel, Brainchild is dedicated to the ambitious goal of revolutionizing the water sports industry. With advanced and sustainable manufacturing methods, Brainchild produces kites with unmatched performance, lightning-quick reactivity, and drastically lower weight.
Unique for Brainchild Production is the patented PROWELD technology. Instead of stitching the individual segments of the kite’s leading edge, Ralf Grösel developed a manufacturing technique that exclusively enables him to weld the individual segments together.
How a kite turns has always been a key focus for Damien when designing kites, and PROWELD allows for zero play between each Leading Edge segment. This means the entire LE acts as if it’s made out one one single piece – giving absolute perfect bending and rebound characteristics.
On top of the huge advantage in turning, responsiveness, and rider feedback, PROWELD requires a lot less material than traditional kite constructions, making Reedin kites produced at Brainchild, some of the lightest kites on the market, without the need for extremely expensive materials.
The introduction of digital printing is another revolutionary achievement of Brainchild Productions. Through further developments and the use of new and exclusive Brainchild canopy materials, the vision of digital printing could be realized. This enables virtually endless design possibilities.
At the same time, digital printing drastically reduces water consumption compared to conventional canopy dyeing. Canopy material that is traditionally dyed absorbs the color, making the fabric heavier. Digital printing allows for the most outstanding designs at a fraction of the weight!
Brainchild has made it their mission to create an environmentally friendly and socially responsible production facility for water sports equipment in Europe. The completely solar-powered factory actively supports the local labor market and creates prospects for these people. Through digital printing and the use of recycled plastics and sewing thread, Brainchild is setting new standards in terms of sustainability while offering the pinnacle of high-performance products.
